Grandpa Green Explosion Box

Hi guys. This is my first Blog post, yay! I thought I would start with something I created last year for a friends grandpa. He was turning 90 so she wanted something cute for him that she could fill with memories and photos of his family. I decided to make an Explosion Box that I had seen on various sites such as Pintrest. They appeared to be quite easy to grasp once you had your base layer size all mapped out and it was a really enjoyable project. I used various patterned papers, stickers, inks, and metal embellishments to get the finished look I wanted.

In the examples I had seen there appeared to be a lot of waste card from the assembly of the exploding box feature. I decided to use these parts instead of cutting them off to create pockets and pages that open, which gave more panels to put pictures on and space to store tags.

Overall this was a really fun project and my friend loved it. I’m looking forward to making more of these in the future as they make great presents for all sorts of occasions and they look great just stored on a shelf with all your other bits and bobs.

If you want to know what measurements I used to create this box feel free to message me. Happy Crafting!
