Bee You Journal Page

Hi guys! This weeks project is a little different as I wouldn’t normally post pictures of journal pages due to their personal nature, but this one was too cute not to. I created it in my new journal from Dina Wakley with various surfaces to work on such as watercolour paper, craft card and burlap which I love.

I began by sticking some torn up book pages down with gel medium and then covering my page in a thin layer of white gesso to prepare it. I then added some texture paste through the Tim Holtz circles stencil to look like honeycombs and then through the Tim Holtz sunbeam stencil to add interest to my page. I then stamped some Bee’s in the background from the Tim Holtz Oddities Stampers Anonymous set using black Archival Ink. I also used the Archival to create a shadow honeycomb by adding it through the circle stencil beside the texture paste circles. It was now time to add some colour, I used some Dylusions sprays, Black, Lemon and Satsuma. This gave me a beautiful combination of colours that I also used to colour my die cut and embossed bee from the Tim Holtz Bigz die named Layered Bee. After attaching my die cut bee to my page I stamped some wording on some white card that inspired me at the time, and stuck it on to complete the page. I hope you enjoy this post and perhaps it inspires you to create something in your journal? If it does share it on social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook using the #winstoniancrafts so I can see it. Happy crafting!

CHSI Stitches Show

Hey guys! This year I was lucky enough to be able to attend the CHSI Stitchers show in Birmingham UK for retailers. I had a sneak peak at some of the new products being released this year which was super exciting and I cant wait to order some of them when they become available. The highlight for me though would have to be meeting Dyan Reaveley a signature designer from Ranger. She was super nice, gave us a little demo of her new Dylusions Diary line and let us have a flick through some of her filled journals which was a real treat. This was a memorable moment for me so I thought I would share it with you, she is a real inspiration and hugely talented. I’ll definitely be investing in some of her new products released this year as I’m sure some you will to. Happy crafting!
