Vintage Burlap Panel

Hi guys. This has got to be my favourite piece I’ve posted on here so far, mainly because its comprised of lots of different Tim Holtz products and I seriously love that guy. It all started when I purchased some Burlap panels and wanted to try one out immediately, thankfully I’m really happy with the outcome. I began by applying a small amount of texture paste to the Burlap panel with a pallet knife, waited for it try and added some Ground Espresso Distress paint.

Once this had dried I began placing some various pieces of Tim Holtz ephemera from the Expedition, Thrift shop and Emporium packs. Some I stuck flat to the panel using my Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue and I then started to build it up using sticky foam pads. The final paper piece I added was picture from the Tim Holtz Found Relatives which I fussy cut around so you could still see every layer behind it. Of course, I distressed every layer before attaching it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give it more definition.

The final touch was adding some embellishments which I painted with Ground Espresso Distress paint. I then added a piece of string going all the way around the panel, underneath some of the top layers held up by sticky foam pads.

This was a really fun project to make, lots of layers, very vintage, loads of Tim Holtz products. Perfect! Why don’t you give it a try and send me some pic’s on Facebook? I would love to see your take on it. Happy crafting!
