Hey guys, after playing around with the birthday card I made for my dad last week I came across some awesome card in my stash and decided to make use of it and create a little steampunk tag. I began by cutting out a tag using the largest in the Tim Holtz Framelits Tag collection set on white card, and the cog patterned paper from the Enjoy The Ride pack (unsure of the brand). Before sticking them together I tore off some of the edges of the patterned paper so I could stick some lace in its place. Giving the impression there is a layer of lace underneath the paper peeping through, pretty nice effect.
After sticking the two tags together and attaching the lace I distressed the edges using the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink to make the whole project look aged. When deciding on embellishments for this project I just dived into some of my old paper flowers, metal cogs, cameo pieces and plastic flowers. Unfortunately all of these are unpackaged so I’m unsure of the brands, however I did also use some Tim Holtz Idea-ology Clock Faces and game spinners
To attach all these pieces I used Finnabair Art Basics Heavy Body Gel to ensure some the heavier pieces wouldn’t fall off. The finishing touch for this project was to add some stickers from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Big Chat book, ‘Appreciate Beauty’ seemed to work. I hope you like this quick project and brief overview of how I made it, it certainly was enjoyable to make. Why not have a go at making something similar in your own style? If you do use #winstoniancrafts on your social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, I’ll see it. Happy crafting!
